Rules

Eligibility

Our competitions welcome participation from both amateur and professional photographers aged 18 and above.
Individuals directly affiliated (e.g., partners, family) with judges or competition organizers are ineligible to enter.

Entry Submissions and Guidelines

Entrants may submit as many images as they wish for each competition.
Competitions run monthly throughout the year, back-to-back.
Submissions must be in JPEG format, saved at a minimum quality of 8. Scans of transparencies/negatives are also eligible.
Images should be saved at 1920 pixels on their longest side. Click here for assistance if unsure about processing images to meet our guidelines.
Photographers have full creative freedom with post-production.

Ethics

Photographers must obtain necessary licenses for piloting drones, complying with relevant laws.

Judging

An appointed judge will review a shortlist of images and assess them based on composition, originality, and creativity to determine winners.
Judges may also recognize any number of images with a 'highly commended' award, displayed in each competition's Winner's gallery.
Winners and highly commended participants will be notified of their results within two weeks of competition closure.
An image that previously won cash prizes in our competitions cannot be re-entered.
An image that receives a 'highly commended' award can be entered into future competitions.

Prize Money

All prize money is generated from participant entry fees, with 50% allocated as prize money for each competition.
Prize money is awarded to the named individual on the entry form.
Winners will be contacted via the email address provided on their entry submissions and must provide valid payment details within 30 days of notification. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of prize money.
All prize money is paid via PayPal; recipients are responsible for any fees related to foreign currency conversions.

Percentage breakdown of prize money:

Winner: 35%

Runner-up: 15%

By submitting images to our competitions, you agree that:

You are the original creator and copyright holder of submitted images.
Submitted images do not violate any third-party intellectual property rights, trademarks, or contracts.
You have appropriate model release documents and consent for any persons featured in submitted images, including parental consent for minors.
You are liable for any claims made by third parties regarding legal breaches related to your entries, and indemnify Snap|Theme and associated parties from all royalties, compensation, and legal fees resulting from such breaches.

Snap|Theme reserves the right to disqualify entries that breach any rules and report potential legal breaches to relevant authorities.

Rights to Use

By entering images in our competitions, you grantSnap|Theme a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable license to use, display, publish, edit, or sublicense competition entries for purposes connected to our competitions. All images will be credited to the photographer when used where possible
Snap|Theme does not claim copyright of any submissions to our competitions.

Liability

Proof of entry submission does not constitute proof of receipt.
Entrants are responsible for ensuring their email security settings accept emails from Snap|Theme.
Entries not receiving awards will not be retained by us.
Except as otherwise stated, Snap|Theme assumes no liability for any losses or damages suffered by participants in relation to our competitions, entry use, or prize money use. This exclusion includes liability for third-party misuse of entries.

Data Protection

Personal data necessary for competition operation will be collected during registration. We do not share your personal details with third parties but may use them to contact you regarding future Snap|Theme competitions.
